Is good but - After a change from openSUSE to fedora and as i saw this stability - I found my distro :D But btw - Gentoo is not ever actual like debian - But stable :)
Hi... this is oxygen-transperent right :) isn't movies get laggy with VLC + oxyge-transperent + fullscreen :D for me is laggy :(
I use Oxygen-Transparent and i dont have a problems with my VLC - Did you compiled it without fails? I just have a bug when i use split windows - then i have no blur.
i guess is the blur... with smplayer, mplayer, kmplayer and totem i don't have video at all :D the video area i total transperent so i have to disable transperency for video players... but with vlc i do have video but is laggy.. but i found solution, in options i make vlc to play videos in in new windows not integrated and then in special application window settings make it allways group :D that did trick for me :D
Interesting Solution :) Which Linux you use? I had ever to install Gstreamer plugins good/bad/ugly for all Media Codecs (i use Fedora). When i dont have Codecs for my System installed all is buggy after a clean install ;) - So i think you should install your Distro Codecs (VLC have most of all in it - but not your System). Do you use Compiz or KWin? With Compiz i just have Problems - So i use "just" Kwin - And i have to say, i like it more than Compiz - It is stable in this way... I hope in this way you can use your System with different Players ;)
ofcourse i use Kwin... Kwin is kickass :D i use ubuntu and i guess i will wait untill octomber to clean install :D but that is not such a problem Kde have other bugs to fix like task manager in 4.7 :D
I use KDE 4.7 too, but i dont have such Problems - I use Fedora 15 and they doesn't support it normally (community repos)... By the way i'm not a fan of ubuntu and its "forks" lol I tested it in the past and had problems like hell - Some hardware (newer or older they not support - some older they delete out of its kernel). If it is not linux i think by me it is like a new apple os :P But yes - I think now it is an ubuntu problem - not about your config...
I'm thinking about moving to Gentoo becouse there evererything installs from source but i'm kind of use to the "apt-get" manager
can share ur wallpapers if it is 1920*1200 . thanks mate.
Thy for your comment. I can give you this address but it have a bit to less pixels for you - just 1600x1200 But if you can handle gimp - you can use "liquid rescale" for a bigger one;) http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs37/f/2008/287/8/9/Black_Texture___Ray_by_Ethenyl.jpg
