Dear Pedro, there's this bug in /usr/share/icons/Mate-Monocrom-Dark/categories/big/preferences-desktop.svg where the symlink point to your home folder.
Best icon set I’ve ever used. I can’t be doing with all this new-fangled ‘colour’ that other icon sets seem to have.
I prefer your “Flat” icons from an aesthetic and usability point of view, but the Monochrome ones are a more complete set, which trumps that so I use them.
I'll second this sentiment. I used to really enjoy turning on flat or Reinhardt icons (hell, I used to use them more than crystal); they (along with comix) complement some vector wallpaper quite nicely.
Unfortunately, these days I end up with crystal icons sprinkled in among them, which kind of ruins the coherence. It'd be enjoyable to indulge in occasional bouts of minimalism once again.

Above in this thread, there's a guy who points out that some of the application taskbar icons remain colored. I have the same problem with for instance firefox and opera, but I can't figure out what icons are used. For instance I've tried switching the mozicon16.xpm in /usr/share/firefox/icons that looks exactly like the little bugger in the taskbar, but it makes no difference :/. Other applications, like konqueror, shows the correct flat svg taskbar icon.

If you can find *any* icons in kde that are not themed by this set (not including gnome apps! :), please tell me...

The link to download is dead, can you reup this please? I have them when I used kde 3, but now I upgrade to kde 4 and miss this icon theme.

Application icons on the taskbar show my COLOURED icons. How to update or change them to monochrome?
