Description: This is the Oxygen Icon theme made for KDE4 by the Oxygen Team modified to work with KDE3, simply install it like any other KDE3 theme (restarting KDE is recommended to correct certain icons from not changing), I made this theme so that KDE4 and KDE3 applications don't look so odd next to each other, but you can just use it as a normal Icon Theme if you want. Thank You :-)
Remember the Oxygen Icon Theme is still incomplete so there may be a few missing icons (they will be replaced by the crystalsvg ones of course)Last changelog:
Hi
do you have a script to generate the oxygen KDE 4 to KDE 3 icon name mapping? I really would like to update the icons from current oxygen 4.7. Thanks in advance!
Björn
I always liked the Oxygen theme ever since I started testing Kubuntu 8.10. I hope you continue to update this as the Oxygen theme grows. It loaded rather nicely on Kubuntu 8.04. My only complaints are nit picks. However, everything looks a whole lot better without the instability of KDE 4.1. Hopefully, they get KDE 4 stable by version 4.2 because I like what I've seen so far.
Very nice and elegant theme. I installed it in my KDE 3.5.9 environment and all looks great except the open folder icon. Here's a screenshot from Konqueror:

Is this icon missing...?
In /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg you need to replace folder_open.png (that's what I remember it being called, if not it will be similar) in the 16x16 folder with (in my set) 16x16/actions/document_open_folder.png and that should fix the problem you have there. I would recommend you switch to KDE 4.1 though (or 4.2 SVN), and get the theme as it is meant to be :)
I am seeing these folder icons everywhere, but on the oxygen website it shows a much cleaner, sharper, glossy, more defined, folder icon. Just wondering if those icons were scrapped in favor of these, cause I really like the ones in the preview on the oxygen project site.
I think the Home folder icon in the official set looks like the preview on the oxygen site, but the icons on the oxygen site have been outdated for quite a while.

Hmm, I had a problem where that icon reverts back to the crystalsvg icon, I ended up having to overwrite the crystalsvg icon in /usr/share/icons.
Hi Dapper, Which icon(s) from crystal-svg should I replace in order to have a consistent interface? Could you be more specific please? Thanks.

Thanks, that worked! :)
Can't install on Kubuntu Hardy, it say "This file is not a valid icons theme'
Try re-downloading it cause' I just downloaded it to check and it worked for kcontrol.
Hi - I've had the same problem - I located index.theme but got the message ' this is not a valid theme'.
You have to save it as ‘oxygen.tar’, ie. without the ‘.bz2’ extension. It should work then (for me it does and I have Hardy too).

The file downloaded says it is a bzipped file, but actually it is plain tar.
I used Ark to compress it, something must be wrong with that
ahem, you forgot the changelog
I just updated the description
Thanks for the icons. One thing to note. The download speed from mediafire is really terrible. Isn't there anywhere else you could host them.
I don't know of any place better than mediafire, do you have any better hosts?
May be you can use divshare.com
Thanks for the package for KDE3!
