I use these settings with my themes Tourmaline, UbuntuFrost and UbuntuFrost's derivatives.
You will likely have to play around with the screen refresh rate settings under 'general', currently I have it set to force 60fps.
I use the 'magic lamp' minimization effect but I always have to manually change some Compiz files so that it works the way I want it to. On my desktop it does not have any waves and looks much more like the minimization effect you would find on a Mac. If you are interested in hacking your Compiz to get such an effect see this link:

... and NO, I am not responsible if that hack destroys your comp.

Hy BRo thx for this setting... but it seems not work at all... my emerald doesn't blurring... is this compiz bug, emerald bug,or rendering problem?? ah i don't know those things... but thx for sharing,my desktop look better now....
Are you using an ATI card? I did some research after someone previously was complaining they couldn't get the blurring to work and found that the ATI drivers have had some sort of regression that causes the blur plugin not to work. Perhaps this is the issue, sorry I did not think of this earlier.
