hey, great theme... what are you using here as a system monitor on the desktop? it's not conky is it? any chance you want to post the theme for that as well?

ottlux

Thank You! The System-monitor is "GKrellM" (http://members.dslextreme.com/users/billw/gkrellm/gkrellm.html). You can download the theme I use from: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=95885 ~ ottlux

hello master. i'm really new using ubuntu 9.04. hope u can teach me how to install that theme. i already dnwd avisor-theme_for gkrellm_1.0.tar.gz to my desktop. and now i dont know how to extract for my dekstop theme...

jade93

Well first you need to install 'emerald'. Its really easy all you need to do is type "sudo apt-get install emerald" into your terminal. Then once you do that it should be in your systems. After doing that you go to emerald theme manager and click import. If its on your desktop it should be in the selection. After that just click on it and it will import to your emerald theme thingy. You might have alittle trouble installing that but if you go to the terminal and type in "emerald --replace" your theme should appear. But after you exit the terminal it'll disappear. I recommend that you set it so it runs on start up by going to "start up applications" which is in the preferences part in systems and set it up which is also easy. All you have to do is type the name of the app for the title, in commands you just type in the command I told you earlier, and then add a comment (it really doesnt matter what it says) then log out and log back in and your theme should be up and running. :)

BTW if you want to start it from the terminal but don't want it to die when the terminal does, type: emerald --replace & disown into the terminal. That should make it work. If it floods the terminal with text you don't want/need, you can just close the terminal and reopen it; alternately you can start emerald this way instead: emerald --replace >>/dev/null 2>&1 & disown If it errors out claiming that there's no window decorator (or "nothing to replace" or something like that), try again without the "--replace"

Hey very nice work! Was wondering where you got the calendar on your theme. Cheers in advance!

ottlux

The calendar is rainlendar2 (http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php) I use the "Horizontal Rainlendar" - Skin. To disable shadows under Compiz, I added in CCSM under Window Decoration to the field Shadow Windows following text: any & !type=utility ~ ottlux
