Description:
Weel thanks to adamantis who gave me this idea to realise a completely transparent theme (see his darkness theme).
For my own part, I prefer light themes, so I work a little around this.
You can find everything here to activate full transparency with RGBA true :

When i tried the transparency, i got ugly inconsistencies in the panel, the same way it looks in the screenshots in the wiki you provided. How did you prevent that?
Well, you have to set different things together : 1. set the panel colors trough gnome color chooser and use the murrine engine as global 2. use a solid color as background color for your gnome panel and set the same color and opacity as you've choosen trough gnome color chooser. i hope this will help you. It takes a while to tweak all untill it fits fine.
Nice.. Another rgba theme.. The gtk2 themes start looking better and better.. Although it looks nice i'll still stick with darkness. Great job.
sorry.. i hurried and didn't see it's just an emerald theme.. i saw the screens and thought it has the gtk theme too
Well, in fact, there is a gtk theme based on Murrine and tweaked trough gnome-color-chooser. I'm seeking for how to make a tar.gz from my settings. If you wish I can send you my xml file with the gnome-color-chooser settings and tell you where to copy.
for now i'm happy with darkness.. i like dark themes as i usually stay late in the night and it's easier for my eyes to deal with the screen
Yeah, I understand, I also use dark theme late in the night. Anyway, you can make your own using the scipts for rgba true and use gnome color chooser to set the options as you like.
thank you for your comment. Well, you're right. Things are going the right way with gtk and we all have to work, creating new themes, clear or dark ones, to fit everybody's wishes. I'm not very satisfied of my buttons (low definition) I'll try to make better ones. If you've got any other ideas, tell me. Cheers !
