Description:
Highly transparent preset for QtCurve.

In order to make it look like on the screenshot:
- You must have QtCurve at least 1.5.1 installed (older version don't support ARGB)
- You should have KDE SC 4.5 - older versions don't have blur, what makes it hard to read anything.
Last changelog:

Version 0.2
- Increased window opacity to 80%

I use KDE 4.5.3 and QtCurve 1.7.0 and can't use blur on windows also, despite it being on in systemsettings.

hellblade

Blur is not used here as well. QtCurve 1.6.4 KDE 4.5.3 Qt 4.7.0 Nvidia 260.19.12 Kernel 2.6.36 Kubuntu 10.10 Blur enabled in Kwin effects' settings and working at least in KMenu and plasma.

bfo

Have you enabled VSync? I did this and windows got blurred immediately, but what I got then was an unusable desktop (in terms of speed). FYI, KWin devs discourage to use blur effect with custom themes, because KWin itself will be fully prepared for such effects only in KDE SC 4.6 release.

hellblade

Yes I have vsync enabled so this is not the cause. There seems to be something wrong with my system (kde version and nvidia driver related) because others don't see it in theirs. Anyways since this problem is not directly related to your theme, I have reported it (as I should have done from the beginning) to the QtCurve maintainer.

If I could activate blur, I'd use themes like this. /izo\

Hey...Done all that, just can not get it to be transparent...

Mitu

Are you sure you are using QtCurve version 1.5.1? Older version don't support transparency.

AngelOfDeath

Nice...Q how do ya install it, im having a lot of trouble...

As with any QtCurve theme settings set your style to QtCurve open the configuration dialog ( next to the style selector ) and click import.

...doesn't mean you should! The transparency feature of Qtcurve is interesting, however, but not very useful if overused. Your theme is very obtrusive and hard on the eyes for long periods. You know what they say about too much of a good thing? Tone it down. Subtle transparency here and there is good, but too much is overkill.

Mitu

Thanks for reply. I admit that it might have been too much transparent... Version 0.2 with 80% opacity is out :) How do you find it now?

cmost

I like it much better now. Especially with blur and soft backgrounds it looks very nice. Great job!
