I havent tested this on other computers, so please tell me if it works or not.
Install in ~/.screenlets/pidgin/themes
NB: You need the Pidgin Screenlet to use this theme.

I was wondering if there is any way to allow the screenlet "Transparent V2" theme, to enable the download of the buddy icon from the start. Instead of displaying the protocol icon until you click on the actual buddy, does the buddy icon get cached. I'm wondering if there is a way to modify the theme or options.conf file, so that the user/icon info. is obtained and cached right from connection identification. This would be awesome. I believe this used to work for xmpp/facebook, because I don't remember having to click on each buddy/message them, before the proper icon was displayed. Right now I changed the symlinks that were bad in protocol for gtalk.png and xmpp.png to google-talk.png and facebook.png accordingly, but the proper icons would be best.
It is easy to change the top messages in the Pidgin Screenlet. Just go to /usr/share/screenlets/Pidgin/ and edit the file PidginScreenlet.py I use nano and simply press Ctrl+O and look for "Pidgin not running", this will bring you to the part of the code where the message is coded, and change it to whatever you like. I changed both messages to "WAITING..." I think they look better. Most of the time, I have to go to that directory and make the Pidgin screenlet binary files executable anyways, because they're not installed that way by default, so go to /usr/share/screenlets/Pidgin/ and run "chmod +x *.py" I'm having my own issue though, my Pidgin Screenlet is not detecting that the latest Pidgin is running. Pidgin Screenlet is 0.3.3 and Pidgin is version 2.10.6. Any help would be appreciated.
sorry should be Ctrl+W in nano to find text... Not Ctrl+O. That'll just write out the file... Sorry if I caused any stress to peeps.
Is there a way I can edit or remove the main/top status bar text. For instance, when Pidgin isn't open and I have this screenlet running, the top window will say "Pidgin not running". I would just like to delete this message, and the one when Pidgin cannot connect: Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how I might be able to accomplish this. Also, great work on this theme - It's definately the best!

You need the Pidgin Screenlet before adding this theme. Probably lies under the screenlets section here on Gnome-look.org
i was unable to install it as well. some instructions would be very helpful
I made the same directories, but there doesn't seem to be a way to install the theme from inside Pidgin.
hi, i have the directory /.screenlets, but inside doesnot exist the /pidgin/themes directory. I made them on my own but no result. How do i enable the screenlet? I search this for two hours and i cant find some instructions. please help!! thank you
This theme is fantastic, except for one little thing: When someone replies and the screenlet shows notification of it by changing the icon to a little "!", the name of the person disappears from the screenlet until I click on it to show the new message. Here is a screenshot: http://i35.tinypic.com/21bqaur.png
Yes, I am aware of that. I'll see what can be done.
Awesome, thank you!
There you go, please tell if there are any bugs, I haven´t got the chance to test it on other computers.
