Metacity Theme в Gnome Shell ставить исключительно в /usr/share/themes иначе не изменить рамки окон (metacity). После установки клик по папке с темой - свойства папки - права - чтение файлов всем, и на вложенные файлы тоже. Выбор в gnome-tweak-tool.

Тукс танцует при наведении курсора в GTK 2, GTK 3, MATE, Gnome Classic, Cinamon.
Тукс может не танцевать в Gnome Shell из-за железа и драйверов.
Как установить?
В Nautilus выбрать - Вид - показывать скрытые файлы, распаковать архив в папку .themes в домашней директории (если папки нет то создайте её и именно с точкой в названии).
Далее установите Gnome Tweak Tool (в терминале sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool и жмём Enter, вводим пароль и снова жмём Enter) и выбирайте данную тему по названию. Windows (Окна) - Current theme (Текущая тема) - кликните по прямоугольнику с названием темы и выберите из списка нужную.
Можно изменить шрифт заголовка окна в настройках Внешнего вида для GTK 2 или в Gnome Tweak Tool для GTK 3.
Все кнопки работают на правой и на левой стороне. Но я использую правую.
Как переместить кнопки на окнах с левой стороны на правую?
В терминале:
sudo apt-get install gconf-editor
жмём Enter, пишим свой пароль и жмём Enter
Далее в терминале:
sudo gconf-editor
жмём Enter
Ищем в
apps > metacity > general, это “button_layout”
и изменяем ключ (кликаем в строку) с button_layout, стираем это
close,minimize,maximize:
и пишем это
menu:minimize,maximize,close жмём Enter
Перезагружаем систему.

Extracted a package
go to terminal ► sudo nautilus
manually copy the folders to /usr/share/themes/ or unzip the file to a folder .themes in your home directory
Go to Gnome Tweak Tool and settings theme (sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool) - Windows - Current theme - Tux dancing
You can change the font in the title bar to customize the appearance of GTK 2 or Gnome Tweak Tool to GTK 3.
Buttons work on the right and the left side. But I use the right one.
Right buttons:
1. run in terminal: sudo apt-get install gconf-editor
2. run in terminal: sudo gconf-editor
Browse to apps > metacity > general, look for “button_layout” on the right panel.
Change the value in the “button_layout” from close,minimize,maximize:
to menu:minimize,maximize,close and press the Enter key.
Restart
You are done, and you will see that now buttons are at right.
You definitely have great taste, is no doubt in my mind! Now any chance of getting this to work on Gnome 3.8? If you're not game for it, will do my best. I think is really sharp!!!!
