Description: For those wanting an easy-to-use script to automate converting most video formats to avi, here is one for you.
It is not as complicated as some I have seen, but it will do what you want, when you want.
It allows for easy conversion between DVDs, ISOs, AVIs, MPEGs, or whatever type of video input desired into AVI (or MPEG) format. Just follow the menu I made for it, and it should be very simple to use. There are lots of presets for the outputted Avi. Also included is a simple custom quality option for those who want such. Enjoy.
Requires:
sudo apt-get install lsdvd
...note, it will still work; it is just handy for getting dvd title information...
To Run (3 ways):
1. Just double click it. It should automatically open into a terminal window and then just follow the menu from there
2. Run in a terminal window and optionally input a path to a video if you would like:
./path/to/Video2Avi.sh "/path/to/video"
3. Run as a nautilus-script, by right-clicking a selected video file or Iso; it will start the menu options automaticallyLast changelog:
