Why do people insist on trying to make their desktops look like another OS? What a freaking slap in the face to these people who spend hours and hours of their time developing an alternative Desktop/OS for you to use for free. Only to turn around and have people create themes and backgrounds which attempt to emulate proprietary operating systems. good lord.
a) becouse they are familiarized with that GUI to work and they don't want to stop using GNU/Linux becouse of NOT understanding the GUI. b) becouse they just CAN... It's FREE as in freedom, you know?
you mean that the gnu/linux gui (mandrakelinux, in my case) is SO different from a Mac gui? i'm a Linux user, and proud of it!
it can be as different as you want it to be... sorry for my english.... some of my ideas might not be well expresed...
Just because you have the freedom to do something doesn't make it right. Thats what freedom is, having the ability to make the right decisions? How does creating content which promotes non-freedom help Gnome?
and why are you making such a big problem becouse of a splash screen? grow up man...
3) because a Mac is quite expensive, and I can't afford it. 4) because it's easier to make a skin/wallpaper/etc. for Linux than buying a PPC. If I'd have the money, I'd definitely buy one. But this is the far future... :( MantaRay
You can actually run Linux on a Mac, you know. What's wrong with adding Apple logos to an OS you're running on Apple hardware?
