For applying GDM themes, there is this tool:

Note Ubuntu uses LightDM, so you would need to switch to GDM first to use GDM themes:

This alternative logon theme for Windows has been around for years and was created long before Stardock released their Windows Welcome screen theme application. You really shouldn't give Stardock credit for it, rather find the original author and credit him or her. Secondly, I can't understand why anyone would want to adorn their powerful Linux workstation with a pathetic Windows logo.
Hi. I'm not saying it's Stardock's work. I'm including the (AFAIK) original author. If you have the source of the very original one, let me know and I'll change it. Second, our powerful linux workstations allow us to show on the logons wathever we want, so if somebody likes the flag, somebody can use it. Or are we going to censorship wathever stuff "is not linux"? Cya!
every time, the same thing: "i don't know why use windows appearance on linux..." it's not a problem, world still goes on, even if we don't know why. someone finds it useful, and that's all. more, i am the director of a little reading-room, and studying-room, in a student-residence...they don't know linux, nor windows, nor nothing. we have some very old pcs, on which only linux can work. windows, i tried everything, but it doesn't work. more, there are some older people, 60-year-old, or more... they have taken confidence with computers, but won't try a completely new thing, now, and they use our pc-room. that theme made them able to use every computer we have. so, i ask, is it still pointless? it just helps, and that's all. if you don't like, don't use it
this looks nice!... the only thing is that it does include the windows logo (i don't use windows)...maybe a version with gnome logo, I have been on the look for a good GDM theme..... maybe TwilightGNOME! anyways , looks Good! voted good!
so what ? I don't like cat Stupid argument.
i don't like windows
I don't like windows ether. But your opinion means everything to me. The creator should just change the background. And anyways I don't like windows but stop wining and change the background to your liking.
