How to install the theme:

You might want to backup your original XSplash theme, so type the following in the terminal (or ctrl+c - shift+ctrl+v in terminal)
sudo cp /usr/share/images/xsplash/ /usr/share/images/xsplash_backup/
than with root privileges extract this archive to /usr/share/images/xsplash/

mind that to install another theme you may just copy any .jpg picture to /usr/share/images/xsplash/ and rename it as bg.jpg! The same is with logo and throbbler (animation) files! simply change logo.png and trobber.png (simlinks will do the job for you=) ). This archive also contains bg_2560x1600_life.jpg with lighter background. logo_old_blue.png and throbber_old_moded.png for almost default logo and throbber.
