Give me Foot (script)

A script to replace the distributor specific logo (e.g. the Ubuntu logo) on the Gnome menu, with the standard Gnome Foot logo.

Hope it will be useful to someone

Usage example:

If you're running ubuntu and using the standard "Human" theme, you should run the script with "Human" as parameter.

[quote] sudo ./givemefoot.sh Human [/quote]

As the same if you're using the "nimbus" theme on Ubuntu (provided from Sun with OpenSolaris) just type:

[quote] sudo ./givemefoot.sh nimbus [/quote]

The "hard" version prevent the auto-updater to overwrite the new menu icon on system updates. Use it only if you're really sure you want the foot icon only and always (as I do).

WARNING: To undo the script effects it is necessary to manually replace all the modified icons!
(or maybe find another script like this one)

Forked the script into two different ones:
the normal one, that will just overwrite the menu icons, and an "hard" version which will prevent system updates to reset the default non-foot logo.

The script copy new icons on the /usr/share/icons/... folders, in the specified icon theme and prevent the debian\ubuntu auto updater to overwrite the changed icons after system updates.

Can you make another version of this, but with the Black Gnome Foot from Warty Warthog?

Perhaps you consider putting some contact in README, something like e-mail or web site - in this case you can put link on gnome-look.org, cause i had tar.gz package without any references. btw, nice work and thanks for script
