Description: The default shell theme that has been modified for better integration with the Ubuntu color scheme. Thanks to twodogs for helping me make this theme what it is.Last changelog:
In version 1.1- I changed the compression format to .zip, because apparently Gnome tweak can't handle .tar.gz, which I learned the hard way.
1.2- Changed ripple effect to Ubuntu logo, solidified top panel, fixed blue volume controls, fixed black panel corners.
Excuse my OCD but you forgot to color the curved pieces on the top panel (they are still grey and not orange like the rest of the bar). I know because I made mine green for Mint). Nice!
Thanks for the comment! I'm really new to this, I couldn't find the image that corresponded to those corners. If you could give me the name of it, it would really help. Also, the volume control is still blue, so if you know how to fix that, let me know.
open gnome-shell.css in your themes directory.
look at line 196 (should be the same as mine, right?!)
line says...
-slider-active-background-color: #70AC3C;
change 70AC3C (green) to orange color (say F16F01) and save.
Alt+F2, r, enter to reload theme. :)
the above was for the volume slider color.
this is for the round part at the end of the panel.
as above...
go to line 197
-slider-active-border-color: #579027;
change 579027 (my green color) to your orange color that you used on the panel-border.svg
Alright, I'm in business :). Thanks a lot, but two questions:
1) Is there any way I can change the transparency of the corners to match the transparency of the rest of the panel? And,
2) How do you know what line of the .css corresponds to what aspect of the shell theme?
(Will update theme after that)
I'm pretty sure you can change the transparency. I didn't like it so I changed my panels to black.
Look for rgba(255,255,255,0.8) (gradient-start/gradient-end) in the gnome-shell.css. you can add/delete lines as you see fit in each section to make the theme what you want.
As far as finding the right section....experiment by reading, replacing numbers and looking for the difference after you reload the theme. I like to replace with red (FF0000) because its very easy to notice the change. Good luck!
