Description: I took this theme I liked a lot: http://nale12.deviantart.com/#/art/Flatts-09022014-432924057?hf=1 and made it dark, and work better under Unity.
This theme will hopefully improve over time, if it does, it will happen here: https://github.com/baurigae/polar-night
The version I upload on this site is the version in the screenshot, however.
App icons in the launcher: https://github.com/NitruxSA/flattr-icons
Best Ubuntu theme I've seen as of yet. However, it seems a few websites and applications (e.g. Ubuntu Software Center) are hard to read because the background is forced white by the app and this theme forces the text white as well. Anyway, the software center is the only application that looks weird: congrats on an almost flawless theme!
hi i love your theme but can you make the same window manager decoration theme for xfce i would really appreicate it im using another one now that looks similar but i'd like to use the full theme. thanks !
Thanks :)
Sorry I know next to nothing about theming xfce. Maybe you can use window controls (buttons) images from my theme in your xfce theme by converting them to whatever filetype/format xfce uses?
Oh man talk about broken - this site doesn't have a "reply to" option in comments after 3 are posted, it seems :D
Anyway, about Numix under Gnome Shell - I believe that's by design. If you go into the gtk-3.0 directory, and just rename or remove the "gtk-dark.css" file, and then reload your theme, you will have uniform colors.
It's that some apps (image viewer, video..) call for a dark theme, if there is one.
Under Unity, Numix has real breakage with overlay scrollbars...
I really like your theme. I am not sure if its a bug on my end cause I am useing Gnome 3.12 or whats going on, but this is what it looks like when I apply this theme on my computer.

Any tips on getting all the windows dark?
You're using Gnome Shell with CSDs for window decorations and I did not theme that. Like I said in the description, I wanted to make sure the theme work well on Unity, because that's what I use and know. Also the theme probably breaks with Gnome 3.12, that's to be expected.
Okay, not a problem. I will have to read up on how to theme Gnome lol. I took a quick look at it last night and themeing has gotten really complicated over the past few years.
I know. That's why I want to keep it focused. There's too many themes out there that claim to be all things to all people except they're not. For example Numix is broken under Unity and they don't even care :)
Anyway looking forward to see what you come up with.
Btw client side decorations I believe are themed in gtk-widgets.css

Yea, I was half asleep last night. Do you want me to take a look at it when I have time and add Gnome support for your theme?
I'd like to keep my version Unity only, but sure it's out there, you can take it and do what you like with it :)

Thanks for the tip. I consider numix broken for gnome as well. Some windows are dark and some are light.
I found the fix to the issue i was having. Need to have theme is /usr/share/themes for the theme to work across all windows.
Very nice and smoothy. Working well under ubuntu 14.10.
Good to hear :) Thanks
