Changes to the original theme:
1. Added dark panel in Nautilus
-I never liked the default one.
2. Changed the selection color in the OS to be blue.
3.Changed the main colors of the theme from the original brownish to steel blue

4. Window titles were moved to the right of the window.
5. Changed window borders to 4 px and added rounded corners
6.Some other minor tweaks
---------------------
Installing the theme:
---------------------
1. Unpack the downloaded 'tar.gz' archive to your home .themes folder
-if there aint any just create it
2. Use Myunity, gnome tweak tool, ubuntutweak or whatever tool suits you to load the theme
3. Enjoy & comment please

P.s.
This theme will not work correctly with prior to Ubuntu 12.04 releases. For Ubuntu 11.10 version of the theme look here http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/AmSTblue_FLATTEN?content=150441

Hi, Thought I'd bring up that synaptic is not being themed... Ambience: http://i46.tinypic.com/28cq7o0.jpg AmbSTblue_FLATTEN_12_04: http://i49.tinypic.com/15s1rfd.jpg
It's like that because the theme is stored in home/.themes and synaptic is a root application I don't have the exact solution but see this link http://linuxowns.wordpress.com/2008/05/13/make-synpatic-package-manager-use-gtk-theme/it may help you. Ill try to find solution but i can't guarantee anything.
I've just found a working solution posted by mcduck in ubuntuforums.org http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1544486 - link your user's theme directories into root's theme directories: open terminal and use those commands sudo ln -s ~/.themes /root/.themes sudo ln -s ~/.icons /root/.icons Now it should work fine
Thanks very much! Worked like a charm.
Really I dont like the blue color of this theme. I want to change it to gray or color of Snow Leopard theme. Can you show me how to change it?
Isn't that the point of this theme? Blue. If you want something else, closer to snow leopard, you should do a search. Just my 2 cents.
The problem is that M using Luna OS, while your theme suits completely, that not any theme can compare.
Actually to do that you have to change settings in: metacity-theme-1.xml(the loook of the window borders); unity.ccs (to change the unity panel background); gtkrc & chromium.rc (for browsers collors). It's gonna take a while to do it but if you have time ... :) i've made two sliverish themes you can check them if you like http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/AmbSILVER_12_04?content=150712 http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/AmbSILVER_12_04_1a?content=150714
Sorry. I have NO CLUE why my above comment was added three more times.
I've just checked it and the download link is working, maybe it's a site glitch of some kind
I guess its a glitch then. Still not working for me. I'll just wait it out. Thanks.
Still no luck. I continue to get a "not found" page when I click the download button. I'll try again tomorrow.
I just went to edit my sourcrs.list. Opened terminal and did sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list. Here's the output: unclespellbinder@wombat2:~$ sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list [sudo] password for unclespellbinder: (gedit:5089): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: nautilus.css:110:40: 'dark_' is not a valid color name (gedit:5089): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: nautilus.css:116:40: 'dark_' is not a valid color name (gedit:5089): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: nautilus.css:143:33: Failed to open file '/usr/share/themes/AmSTblue_FLATTEN_12_04/gtk-3.0/apps/dark_': No such file or directory unclespellbinder@wombat2:~$
Thanks for the points, errors fixed & theme updated :)
I was going to download the newest update you spoke of. I click the download button above and get "not found."

This theme looks wonderful, yet it does not show up in Ubuntu Tweak or Advance Settings (Gnome Tweak Tool). Running 12.04 LTS, I've logged out and back in. Then restarted. Still nothing. :-(
Hi there, I'm sorry for the delay but the last few days I was in a place where there was no internet. Strange I've tested it on a 12.04 LTS and it was fine, did you extracted the theme in ~/.themes?
I extracted it to the desktop. Did gksudo nautilus and dropped it in usr/share/themes.
Nevermind. I'm an IDIOT. I realize I did far to much work there. I should have actually READ your readme file. I created .themes in my home folder. All is well. So sorry to bother you when it was my fault. FANTASTIC theme by the way. I really love the color scheme.
Don't worry mistakes happen :)
I like the theme as it currently is but could you make a second that changes the colour of all the orange things like the close button and your selection to blue?
