Thank you for this update! I finally got Nimbus back in Ubuntu! :-)
The only thing that bothers me now is the lack of the dark variant, at least in the Ubuntu packages... But I prefer the light one, anyway.

The Metacity theme just doesn't apply under Unity.
I guess they changed something around those Metacity themes in Unity in Trusty, to make them able to host menus and other fancy stuff... But something gain -- something lose: this is the second theme I tried that just doesn't apply, and I still haven't find a way to make the decorations transparent... :-/
Anyway, I am really happy and grateful for seeing there is work done to update this great theme. Keep it up! :-)
And, if you have time and knowledge, it would be great to see the Metacity theme fixed in Unity. ;-)
Hello! I love the them and thanks a lot for the work. I am trying to install the nimbus-gtk3-theme on Ubuntu 14.04 (64 bit, Unity), through Software center and get this error: "Dependency is not satisfiable: gtk2-engines-nimbus"
I am not really linux-savvy and appreciate any help in overcoming this error.
I have been able to install just the icon set. Would love to install the whole theme.
I figured it out: I needed to install the relevant gtk2-engines-nimbus package.
Now I can install the whole theme. There is a problem with window titles however: the font used in window titles is white on gray background, which is pretty unreadable. I switched to zukitwo theme with sun-nimbus icon theme.

in gtk-widget-assets.css change "background-image" to "-gtk-icon-source" and "active" to "checked"
Obviously the GNOME project changed the API again. No surprise there.
Hey, would it be possible to make also 32 bit packages of the gtk2 engine? So Skype and other 32 bit apps can conform. :-)

Thanx for creating and uploading this. This is a theme I've missed ever since GTK/GNOME went to version 3. Good to have it back! :-)
