Description:
a rather minimal theme.
very much based on ACID by :sixsixfive: http://sixsixfive.deviantart.com/art/ACID-280889262

i changed the colours and tried to remove the horizontal stripe (didn't succeed completely)

i added 2 shellscripts that download a picture of the current moonphase and merge it with a background of your choice.
you will need imagemagick and httrack for that to work.

i also added the 2 conkies. you will need to install conky for that. the weather conky is a modification from Teo Bigus Geekus' collection. thanks and credits. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1156383
there's some documentation in the folder.

you will have to look into all the scripts and change folders (and weather location).
i changed all homefolders to "~", but i'm not sure if it works in shellscripts.

the font is neep, it's in the repositories.
you probably have to enable bitfonts to use it. see here: http://iamfuss.deviantart.com/journal/How-to-install-artwiz-pixel-fonts-in-Ubuntu-226000883 thanks and credits for that, too.

i didn't put any readme in the zip. this is it.

icons are faenza, mouse pointer is comix cursors.

also i just noticed that sixsixfive update his own acid since i downloaded and started modding it.

btw, the official theme name is Acid01.
put that folder under /usr/share/themes and make sure it has the right permissions.

My only complaint is that the shortcut letters aren't underlined anymore, so it's harder to operate with the keyboard.

Also, the scroll bars might be too skinny.

you're quite right. actually i don't know what happened to that; i didn't create the theme from scratch. if anyone knows, please tell us. i'll keep searching meanwhile...

found it! change these lines in Acid01/gtk-2.0/gtkrc gtk-enable-mnemonics = 1 gtk-auto-mnemonics = 1 gtk-enable-accels = 1 ...once i have made a few more changes i will update the download file... so probably never ;-)

found it! change these lines in Acid01/gtk-2.0/gtkrc gtk-enable-mnemonics = 1 gtk-auto-mnemonics = 1 gtk-enable-accels = 1 edit: auto-mnemonics means the underline shows only when you press alt, so setting that to "0" means the underlines show all the time. edit2: in the menu headers the letters are underlined now but not in the menus themselves :-( -at least in thunar and pcmanfm. in gedit the underline works inside the menus but in the headers it doesn't show because it's the same color as the horizontal line (gedit uses gtk3) the search continues...

...i'd like to point out this fix: http://iamfuss.deviantart.com/journal/How-to-install-artwiz-pixel-fonts-in-Ubuntu-226000883 the point is: ttf-pixelfonts usually look great in one size, but applications scale them and then they look really bad. there's other fonts that don't get scaled or that have separate bitmaps for every scaling, old xfonts, but they are disabled by default. when you enable them you should have more fonts to choose from and when you play around with them you notice that some stay the same when you change the size, or change sizes in steps like 10, 12, 15... so those look nice and crisp even if an application attempts to scale them. there's many xfonts in the repositories. (you can also have a look at xfontsel - should be installed - there's even more fonts some of which again don't show up in a standard gtk font selection dialog... if someone knows why and how to get at them let me know)
