Description: I love ZaZoOo's work and have been tweaking his Apple 17 theme to my own liking, changing some of the Appleish content and changing the buttons. Also simplified the background wallpaper so the file is not as large. Everyone changes the wallpaper anyway. Brushed_gem has little jewel-like buttons. These themes are more of a greyed out Apple theme with lots of brushed metal. Enjoy!Last changelog:
Added Brushed_2.edj with more conventional x,+,- buttons.
...that i'd prepare another version with YOUR OWN max, min, and close buttons.
But the GIMP still having its own 80s era interface/widgets sucks big time. You should have someone (like yourself) make up a gtk skin or etk skin to match the theme. THe effect is so jarring that you know you will wind up with a half-baked wannabee theme.
And something as good as this deserves a uniform skin treatment all throughout the desktop.
But thanks for sharing! You're spot on when you said, well you can choose NOT to download it heh

thought that you've ported the real "Brushed Metal" from E16, but not even close....
no respect to the E heritage and to the Authors of original theme...
I must admit I was inspired by the original brushed metal theme in e16 as I had used it for some time and didn't see anything like it yet for e17. I also like the appleish feel so I modified ZaZoOo's Apple theme for my own personnal tastes. Sorry if you don't approve but Linux is all about choices. If you don't like it you don't have to use it.

If I followed your reasoning I'd be upset with ZaZoOo for lack of respect for Apple but I admire his creativity instead. Besides, they do say "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".
The problem is not to be inspired from the Mac style, but to use the originals pictures. In my themes, I create all the pictures to be in a legal way, but using originals Mac OS pictures is not correct...
The only thing that could be mistaken for original Apple is the close, minimize maximize buttons and they are modified Mac4Lin buttons as it states in the theme-about part of the .edj file. I wouldn't dare use any real Apple stuff. I didn't think this theme would be so controversial. I just liked the way this turned out and thought I'd share it.
