yes, its really new I've just heard about it a few days ago and installing it atm. The features list looks very promissing so I wanna try it in action. If everything gonna work as written this gonna be my dream distro - check out the web page to find out the details.
OneBase Linux is an amazing new distribution that has its own advanced package management. You don't have to worry about the dependency of a package, you just choose from source or binary and install it. Give it a try at http://www.ibiblio.org/onebase/ or you might want to wait for the new release thats coming out soon, which will allow users to install apps from the gallery on the homepage just like click n run from lindows. Enjoy
How come I havn't ever heard of it, Is it just really new?
"Onebase is still a very new distribution - the first version appeared only in July 2003, and Onebase 2004 released in early January 2004 is a major rewrite and enhancement of the original concept." you can check the review here: http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=5721
Onebase is pretty new, its first release was only in July last year. It is basically a source based distro, although these days it supports binary packages as well. It is pretty neat. More info on http://www.onebase-linux.org or see this review on Osnews (written by yours truly): http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=5721
What do you mean by One base Linux? Do you mean like the LSB project?
