new (fat) shiny tux!
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
Here's a new Tux that I cooked up on the gimp today. The tgz contains the gimp sources, as well as the two pictures in the screenshots. Hope you enjoy it! Last changelog:
I've made the penguin's body a bit shinier and have made feet that "Do not look like big orange Potato's". The version with the "un-realistic" feet is still included.

How do you make that shiny look with The GIMP? I have seen it in several other places, but I do not know what filter is used.
lol :) filter.... HA no filter my friend There are several ways of tackling this situation.... 1. duplicate the layer and clear it... then select "white: as FG then selecet FG to transparent...scale it to ur likeing ect.... then waaalaa! 2. duplicate then shrink then do the same thing as 1. there are more ways but they take experiance.... Just practice :)
Lol. Thanks for the info. I actually managed to create a 'crystal' stoplight that looked pretty cool
What's with this? I tried to update the screenshot's with the new version, but when I go and click "change" the screenshot and select the new picture, The old screenshot is still there. Well, at least you can see the new version in the 3rd screenshot.
the "shine" seems to be comming in multiple directions.... last time i checked we had one sun anyways work on your shapes... these look akward keep it up ull be good :)
I like the second one Some times its good to be different I get bored of seeing the same old tux
I applaud your effort for making this, but I simply cannot say this is a good wallpaper. Keep on working in the GIMP, im sure youll produce something nice.
What exactly didn't you like about? ... I'd like to know what I could do better next time.
What I didn't like about it: The feet look like yellow eggs. The shiny, 3D look of most of the Tux figure isn't carried through on the body. It looks really flat, circular and boring. What I did like about it: The almost psychotic look on Tux's face, due to the different sized eyes, busts me up. :) It's different; needs work.
