0.3 Now the image has a transparent background. Had to bzip it to make smaller than 500k. Screenshot updated to reflect the changes. 0.2 Added some reflections, made the PC case look less cartoonish, minor flame enhancements 0.1 Initial release
Ah, but kmail needs to be running in order for this to show new mail. I'm looking for something that sits there and checks without having an email client running. Sort of like what KCheckGmail does. Thanks for the info.

Great work. Now for something totally unrelated, what is that tray applet that you are using for mail notification?
It's kmail from KDE 3.3.1 :) The tray icon can be turned on/off in kmail config dialog. And thanks for positive comments.
