After seeing the film "A Scanner Darkly" I became very interested in trying to emulate the rotoscoped animation used in the film. This image is one of my more successful attempts.

I took a photo of the orange flower in question (species unknown: I'm not a botanist -- but if someone else knows please let me know!), posterized it, changed the contrast, did a selective Gaussian blur on it, and then layered a Sobel edge detection over top for the blacklining effect.
