Well as the ubuntu logo is composed of 3 balls, I thought making a spike ball using Inkscape could be funny.

Im gonna go with a shot in the dark here and say that UBUNTU is a gnome debian based linux distribution, I have to say well done on the background, but this should have been posted at gnome-look.org

You're correct that it's a Debian based distro with Gnome as the default, but adding KDE is just a few clicks away and many people are doing that. It's all good. :-)
