SUSE Furnace - Distro Challenge
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
This is the first image I've ever really made. I'm anxious to see what people think.
It's supposed to be a wood furnace with the SUSE logo cut into the door.
I know it's physically impossible for the eye of geeko to float like that and impossible for the "e" center to to float. I'll put up and edited version later. Last changelog:

11/11/04 - I posted a version that IS physically possible.
11/17/04 - I'm sorry for updating so late after my post. I am not trying to bump it. I just realized that to be entered into the distro wallpaper challenge I have to change the title on it. I don't think I'll get my Debian one done in time so I have decided to enter this wallpaper.

The fact you can't actually make the same thing in real life shouldn't stop you - if its nice looking then that should be enough. A couple of notes though: - While the fire image is very sharp and has good contrast, the door and the gecko are blurred and missing details. its something that you wouldn't notice at first look, but after a while (when used as a wallpaper for example), it will really start to bother the viewer. - I would suggest no to have the gecko as a large hole in the door, but instead trace it as an outline, it might look better. - For a good "real life" image you need to have a lot more details like you have in a real world: the pivot a bit bent, there is a scratch on the handle and so on. its those tiny details which make an image believable
Excellente. I am continually impressed by your seductive style.
oreo-masta-- Man, you put your heart and soul into that furnace. I know that it was your sheer devotion to linux that kept you going. Viva Suse! Viva la horrendousness!
physically impossible or not! --- the image is really nice! i love the fire touch and personally i don't recall to many people using fire in many of their images. a nice breath of fresh air from the everyday ;-) keep it up!
