Description:
Coming Storm is a simple and clean GDM theme, made entirely in Inkscape and the Gimp.

The archive includes icons from the Tango project and a background by Nicholas_T.

You can change the GTK theme by dragging the appropriate gtk-2.0 directory, or the background by changing the 'background.jpg' symlink.

Hope you all enjoy!
Last changelog:

0.7 - Pretty much everything is changed, although the general aesthetic remains the same.

Yes, link is broken!

Sorry, the servers currently down. I'm doing my best to get things sorted.

finferflu

The link seems to be broken: Bad Request (invalid hostname).

the theme file should be in tar.gz. my gdm didn't support bz2 as theme archive. i have to convert to .gz to install the theme

Great job! I really like this theme. Just one remark/request: in my (polish) environment the translation for 'username' is 'nazwa użytkownika'. It's long and the string which appears over the login/password input box sticks out to much to the left. This destroys the effect of this otherwise great theme. Possibly, other localised environments also suffer from this issue. It'd be great if You could sort this out.

Cheers for pointing this out, I'll include it in the next update.

your contributions to GNOME themes from Icons to GDM are some of the most polished and valuable on this site. You have 1 fan right here! thumbs up

I really like how the top part is, and I love the choice of colors. only complaint I have is the way the bottom part, where the buttons are, is done. it seems kind of off from the styling of the rest of it.

mejogid

It originally had a bottom more like the top, but I found it to be quite boring. I personally prefer it as it is, but may tone it down a bit. If i can get it to look good enough without the fading, I may release a mod.

Beauty! Can I say more?

I love the clarity and simplicity to this theme. A job well done!

Congrats. Great work!

Very nice. Feel like making a splash screen to match?

This one is my favorite. I added this theme to my login and it starts up after my chrometext-theme.so.tar.gz with the startup-manager. my only problem is that it looks awsome with my blue colored wallpaper and was hoping that you had a black and white or grey available. I may modify the color of this one and post one up if my time allowes. THis is awsome! The best so far.

I lost my original sources with a harddrive crash, but am working on an improved version (along with a few other personal projects so it may be a while yet). I'll probably work in some color variations with that, depending on the file size.

I can't believe there aren't any more comments - it's my favorite GDM theme at the moment. Thanks.

plutoprime

It has been a while since I've seen an original and well designed GDM theme like this. Good job

For applying GDM themes, there is this tool:

Note Ubuntu uses LightDM, so you would need to switch to GDM first to use GDM themes:
