Description: Just a simple, basic HIG theme I created. This (the GTK+ part) is loosely based on SmoothGNOME, and the Metacity part is entirely my own work. The icon theme used in the screenshot and by the index.theme is Suede, which I think is the nicest iconset for GNOME in quite a while.
GTK+ 1.2 theme is included as well, and the Metacity part is available here in the Metacity section (of course ).Last changelog:
BasicGNOME (GTK+) 2.0: Changed the colors to be less dull, and changed the smooth engine options a bit, for example the line style is now thin.
I love this theme, its nice and simple, clean and lightly coloured. Doesn't quite feel "flat and smooth" enough though, little rigid.

i like BasicGnome it is ok but it is also rather bland. i like the combination of smoothGNOME and Suede much better. I am also a contributor on Suede so maybe we could work together to build a theme that would best fit Suede
I've updated the theme to be less bland I hope. :) I'd love to help create a good theme to go along with Suede, I was thinking of doing that myself actually. What do you think would make a good color scheme/theme engine/etc?

Nice... i like it a lot. It's better than gnome default theme (of course it's :) ). And not too diffrent from Gnome default :) Good work!!
