Black Plastic
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
I made it because I felt there was a lack of "fancy", but still useful themes for Gtk.
It's partially inspired by Aerial for WindowBlinds by ~danillooc, and uses some parts of VistaBut by roberTO21 (menu arrow and shares some code).
UPDATE: There's now also a MetaCity theme based on Clearlooks-BlackMod-Dark included.
NOTE: Since this has already gotten negative feedback, I'd love to hear what people think of the theme, and what they don't like. Thanks.
0.4: The Panel Menu graphics were updated, some problems with menus seem to be fixed and the panel desktop switcher now has a better frame.
0.3: Pressed button now has red light instead of green, the green is still available as an option in the gtkrc file. The menuitem was updated a bit and the main background colour was made a bit darker.
0.2: Completely new graphics for the entire Gnome Panel, including something resembling Kickers elegant mode. Also has minor improvements in other graphics.
0.1: Initial version, everything seems ready, but the Gnome Panel menu is ugly.

I love this theme, it looks great, but there are couple of things preventing me from using it. 1) Checkboxes and Radio buttons don't show up for me at all, which really makes it not an option to use. http://img361.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot1bk8.png 2) Menu items that are greyed out are the same color as the background, which is a little annoying. http://img361.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot2wu4.png
I was noticing the same issues with this theme. If you type 'gedit' in a terminal you will see the errors causing the issue with the checkboxes. Basically, you have to go into ~/.themes/Black Plastic/gtk-2.0 and edit gtkrc-check-radio-buttons.rc to point to the menu dir instead of checkradio for each png file. For the hightlighting issue make sure you have the Murrine engine installed. In Ubuntu that is a simple package install from the repositories. After these fixes this is a great theme.
I like your theme me2 :-) -- And -- I am this kind of person who doesn't click the vote most of the time, otherwize I am clicking good or bad but do not leave any comments - hehehe. This time I take the time to thank you for your theme because it worth it more good votes...
Thanks a lot - feel free to ask for improvements, if you have ideas for any ;)
I like the theme and the color scheme.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it :D
First of all, don't feel bad about receiving bad votings. It doesn't mean your theme sucks; most of the time you don't hit the trend. If you want high votings create the nth color scheme of the popular theme of the hour. :) The theme looks nice, though I prefer a bit more color myself. The selected button on the windowlist looks really bad. I guess you wanted to create a sunken look. However the borders simply look blurry. I'm also not to sure about the blue outline of the selected menu item. Maybe try a darker blue?
If you're referring to the screenshot, then the jpeg compression blurs it out a bit, it looks better when you run it. But you're right, it does look a _bit_ blurred - I'll try and see if I can fix it. As for the blue, I don't think the Gnome Panel Menu had updated the images when I took the screenshot, but I like how it looks in "real life", so that probably won't change... much... ;) Where you looking for a more distinctable blue? Thanks for the feedback! :)
