can't find the yellow icons :(, only th blue ones...

Looking good. I am also interested in the icons. And is your windows manager Thunar? I would like to try a XFCE desktop with Thunar (but not xubuntu).
For the icons, check the first comment. Thunar is the file manager. Compiz Fusion is the window manager, and Emerald is the window decorator.
PS - If you are using regular Ubuntu, you can install the basic Xfce desktop environment with the "xfce4" package. It is much smaller than the "xubuntu-desktop" package.
Thanks for the info about the xfce4 package. I am running Linux Mint xfce in VMware to start.
