hi.. is it possible to port this theme for lucid lynx? if so please help.. thanks
Download the file to a directory like Downloads or desktop. If it is in the "Downloads" folder, open that folder and double left click the .gz package. Right click the TechniX folder and select extract here. Now open a terminal "Applications>Accessories>terminal". Change directories to the downloads folder. <code>$ cd Downloads/</code> then type <code>$ sudo mv TechniX /usr/share/themes</code> and press enter. Enter your password and your done. Now right click the desktop and select "change desktop background" select the theme tab on the upper left and scroll down until you see the TechniX theme and left click it. That's it! Whew.
Hey, Sorry for the noob questions but I have no idea how to install this theme. I am running Ubuntu x64 9.10. It looks beautiful in screenshots!
that's simple: copy the folder which contains the file "index.theme" in the ".themes"-folder in your folder or copy it into "/usr/share/themes" to make it avaiable for all users
Hi! rob, this is a good and beautifull job. for the transparency is obligatory to use Compiz, in this theme?
First of I just gotta say that I love your themes in general, and this one in particular. Had a quick question though. What is the name of the monitoring tool that can be seen on the right hand side of the screenshot? Cause that tool has pretty much all the info I'd want in a tool, and has a nice look'n'feel to it. I'd love to know where I could DL it. =) /Joakim
I think he's using Conky.
how do i edit the colour scheme and make the window borders and panels a little transparent?
How were you able to install the Titanium Icon set? I tried doing what code933k said and was able to install it but there are some programs that doesnt have icons. Any ideas?
I really like your themes nice to see someone devote there time to some good design and trys something a little different. To many themes here are just minor colour changes from the default engine. Well done!
Hello! I felt in love with your theme, so I did an openbox one matching yours. If you want to add a link, or ask me to delete mine, do not hesitate! : http://www.box-look.org/content/show.php?content=100201
Hey for some reason when I drop the theme in the theme tab it says that it isn't a valid theme. Can anyone help me? I don't know how else can I install this.
Never mind I installed it =)
When i install the theme (which is by the way flipping Awesome) theme manager tells me that the theme wont work properly because i dont have a correct GTK engine. So..which GTK engine?
Hey there. I'm very new to linux, but I love your theme! I'm not too sure how to install it though? every time I click on download it just redirects me to Deviantart. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!
You download it from Deviant art.
Mate This theme is freakin sweet!!! Love the style, nice job
I'm still fairly new to Linux (though, I've managed to compile everything correctly on my TC1000; touchscreen, pen, etc...so, not blazingly green new), so, perhaps I am just missing something important. When I enable this theme in User Interface, everything seems to work fine, except I don't seem to have the "buttons" that appear in the screenshot (ex. the "Back" button in the browser). I used the TechniX Window Manager theme, too, in hopes that it may fix the problem, but it seems to only affect the border. I know I have to be missing something here. Everything else looks so great, but the button inside windows are still so grey and dull. Any pointers? Thanks for any help! P.S. - I do have the gtk2-engines installed for -clearlooks, -gtk-qt, -mist & -xfce, by the way.
I used the window border from Technix and the controls from Slickness and it makes an awesome desktop! With the black and white 2 icons of course. Thanks for the work, your stuff rules!
I love your themes dude, and this one is no exception. I would like to know what wallpaper you are using. It almost looks like a Deception symbol. I would also like to point out something. Your theme "Overglossed" is now the default theme for Ultimate Edition 1.8. Great work again.
Thanks! wallpaper: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/DRM-X?content=78226 Wtf? it is?!?! I always liked the ultimate ubuntu :D I guess I didn't see that one coming :O Thanks for letting me know //Robert
Hi Rob, First Bug : When an item is selected, you can not see if the box is checked, when queried as Firefox, for example, in Add / Remove Programs. http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/7089/addremoveappqs2.png Second Bug : Above Lock-Keys (Applet), the scoreboard is cut http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/6971/barrexc3.png Third Bug : In /home/user/.xsession-errors : ** (png:6273): WARNING **: Invalid borders specified for theme pixmap: /home/alex/.themes/TechniX/gtk-2.0/range/trough-horiz.png, borders don't fit within the image Bye, bye Rob ! ;-)
Hi Alex! Thanks for reporting, I don't know how I could miss that! The second bug I don't think is a bug with the theme but with the gnome-panel. The two others I will try to fix! Thanks //Robert
Yes, i was get them from here: http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gtk-engines/2.14/ And now i research that this pack was needed to run and other themes that not worked before it. ;) If someone here have similar problem, this is solution. ;)
