I get the error checking for GTK... no
configure: error: GTK+-2.12 is required to compile murrine
This doesnt make any sence as isnt that been default in ubuntu since round 7.10?
Hello-
My name is Salane Ashcraft, and I am on the Art Team for the Ubuntu
OS. The current art team is very ineffective in doing anything, so I
have decided to put together a team of the best icon Gtk, and Metacity
artists I can find to create the new default look for Ubuntu. Would
you be interested?

1)in a terminal:
svn checkout http://svn.gnome.org/svn/murrine/trunk/ murrine
cd murrine
./configure --enable-animation
make && sudo make install
2)then patch from : http://www.cimitan.com/murrine/rgba-support/list
each patch has own instructions..
ps, thankyou for the kind words. I have gone ahead and thrown it up on the ibex wiki.
you should seriously consider posting up this theme for the
Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex release!

i get this failure: laptop:~/murrine$ ./configure --enable-animation bash: ./configure: No such file or directory what could this mean? thanks!
try using sudo./configure
sorry, always the same. it says: no such file or directory or command not found
damn. do you have all the build stuff installed? stuff like make?
try ./autogen.sh instead of ./configure (had the same problem)
now i installed it somehow but there is still no transparency. do i need to activate it somehow?
Go to step 2.
