how do you get rgba support in firefox????? please tell me!

Cygoku

Please remember all that for RGBA to take effect, the application must also support it. Of the official Murrine's website, there is a list of applications that actually does support it. On my side, there is only Emesene that uses it (you need to enable it and restart). Cygoku

I've compiled and installed the SVN (0.6) version of Murine, but I don't seem to have transparency effects. Is there a compilation switch I need to add when I compile Murine? Should I not be running Compiz or Emerald? Maybe a dumb question, but I'm sure others have it too. Thanks if you can help.

I installed it with options: ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --enable-animation Have you done it?

cmost

I did indeed enable the animation. Upon investigation of RGBA in Gnome I discovered that applications have to support RGBA for it to work. Otherwise, you'll see little to no difference against ordinary Murrine. The scant few applications that work (most requiring hacking, patches to the source code or plugins) can be found here: http://www.cimitan.com/murrine/rgba-support/list In my opinion, until this is more widely supported by Gnome and its applications its a waste of time trying to implement it. Just use Compiz. :-)

Nothing wrong with a another Murrine based theme if it looks nice... And your theme looks pretty nice. :) Reminds me of the "candy" color scheme I've seen floating around here. That isn't a bad thing, though.

Yes, I've always loved it.
