I really really like this theme, but there's one little big thing I would like to change: on most themes I've used, if I have a maximized window on some workspace (virtual desktop) I can see the icon of the application, so it's very easy to know where are things... this doesn't happen with Murrina Sky... what should I change to get those icons?

permafrost91

not sure about this ... might have something to do with the window decoration (it uses StormCloud)

I meant... well, this: http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/3975/screenshot2cv0.png the icons on the workspace switcher, not on the windows decorations. Like you can see on the image, I have Firefox maximized on the first desktop, Geany on the second, Rhythmbox on the third and $HOME on the fourth; on the screenshot, I'm using a modified version of MurrinaFancyCandy that uses the colors of MurrinaSky; when I use MurrinaSky it looks like this: http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/5427/screenshot3df5.png... no icons on the workspace switcher... so it's pretty hard to keep track of which app is on which desktop

i never really care about this stuff, but i like this look, why when i install this and set it in controls does it look all square and such, it looks nothing like what your screenshot shows, all the buttons are square etc. is there something i have to install to see this, if you need a screeny of it email me @ tml(dot)0000(at)gmail(dot)com thanx

permafrost91

you probably don't have the Murrine engine installed. You can find it here on GL or the website is here: http://cimi.netsons.org/pages/murrine.php Hope this helps!

one more question - how do you "shade" panels? i mean, how do you add shadow to upper and lower shadow?

permafrost91

not sure, I run compiz and there's a setting for it somewhere but I'm not exactly sure which one it is

joenf

You have a nice taste! I am using it. One thing I have changed for myself is the Active Button style, with which I could see the active window in the "windows list" clearly. style "theme-button" = "theme-wider" { bg[NORMAL] = "#e5e5e5" bg[PRELIGHT] = "#ddccdd" bg[ACTIVE] = "#97ccff" ... ...

permafrost91

Thanks! I was just in the middle of trying to figure out which variable controlled that color! It's been updated in the package (although I used the same blue for the active task that's used for everything else).

joenf

You are welcome. I have thought you did it on purpose ;)

shanike

2 questions: 1) what theme are you using for the windows decorating? 2) do you have a background image for the panels?

permafrost91

The windeco is StormCloud (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/StormCloud?content=44355) and the panel background is the Kubuntu panel background.

shanike

which makes me ask another question: where can i get the Kubuntu panel background? ;)

joakim

I like this theme a lot too! But it makes my favorite Metacity themes turn black :(

permafrost91

well, I made the metacity theme black because I'm using it with StormCloud which is black by default. If you don't like the black, open the gtk-2.0/gtkrc and look for the style "metacity-frame" = "theme-default" {} section towards the end. The bg[SELECTED] color decides what color your metacity theme will take on.

unforgivenII

simply awesome!!!!!!!! best murrina theme ever ;)

Chrispy

can you read my thoughts? this is exactly what i wanted! cool

permafrost91

glad you like it!
