I've been thinking about something along the same principle. What if dialog boxes automatically centered the mouse pointer on the default button and attracted the pointer when moving against the next option?
In my oppinion the usability would be enhanced and the look will stay the same..
... but you have to work on the appearence. And, I don't think you'll get it looking good with QT. Is there a way to capture somehow the signals and the display behind QT? Make it Karamba like, without kwin?

Well, from the useability's point of view it may be good, but it looks... not too pretty. The buttons are REALLY biiiiiiig :)
