Hi ! It seems to be the same app as "audioKonverter" http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/audiokonverter+(also+for+KDE4)?content=12608 But, you're using FFMPEG instead of all the dedicated decoders/encoders !? Right ? My question is: what are the differences between your app and the "audioKonverter" ? Why develop a new one instead of improving the existing one ?
The big difference is that my ConvertAudio is a shell script and uses ffmpeg. I didn't find audiokonverter in my searches, otherwise I would have used that. I wrote ConvertAudio to see if I could write a working menu; when it became useful I decided to share it.
OK !! One extra note, for ubuntu users (>= 8.10), if you want to have MP3 support with FFMPEG, you should install these extra packages: libavcodec-unstripped-51 libavdevice-unstripped-52 libavformat-unstripped-52 libavutil-unstripped-49 libpostproc-unstripped-51 libswscale-unstripped-0
