Description: K Menu with Gnome folder and extra icons for KDE 3.2 or later.
If you install both KDE and Gnome then K Menu will become a mess with overpopulated submenus. Some distributions try to solve this by hiding many Gnome apps in KDE and most KDE apps in Gnome. I do not like that. I want to access Gnome apps in KDE and KDE apps in Gnome. So this is my attempt to both maintain desktop interoperability and unmess the menus.
Why should one install both KDE and Gnome at all? You might share your machine with somebody who prefers the other desktop, or you might be a desktop junky like I am.
I am very irritated. This did not just add 1 menu entry but changed my entire menu layout. Removing it did not change it back and I had to redo my whole menu. You should warn people
Thats absolutely true. It is a real crap. I also tried and it completely destroyed my k-menu. Also, it also removed menu items which was created by other programs like xmms player.
Even after un-installing, the menu is not reset to it's previous state and so no way but to tolerate this spoiled menu.
If anyone is having any idea about how to reset the menu to it's previous state, please let us know, especially Mr. Clunixchit, programmer of this particular item. Also, please modify this software-package as soon as possible.
Thanks!!
