Description: Just an idea I had and thought I might share.
Basically I do allot of repetitive FTP transfers with the window split in half, and I like Konq over other apps.
I taught a toolbar allowing the easy copy of selected files either side and the ability to sync and see the difference between the sides aswell would be cool. External apps do all these things but Konq integration is the key to productivity I think.
Me too use Konqueror as a FTP site manager.
It's very easy to use, it's the same as browsing the filesystem (normal: same app)...
And by creating a profile it's few click available.
Yes, transfert arrows would be good to avoid overwriting confirmation, and Automatic Update thing also (basing on the changes on the disk since last update/transferts... or compared to FTP equivalents for ADSL owners...).
I vote for it, it's cool.
As soon as you will have filled a bug/wish @kde-bugs I will vot for it.
Nearly all the features you requested here are available in Krusader, a twin-panel filemanager.

You said that there are other apps doing all this but you want konqi to do it. Why? Don't get me wrong, but the message I get from you suggestion is: I want a commander-style filemanager but don't want to use one. Please implement in the explorer-style Konqueror a commander-mode...
What do you mean with "Konq integration is the key to productivity"?
I just personally believe that integrated modular frontends like konqueror are the most efficient form of the gui, and while another app like krusader may well do these things, it sort of defeats the purpose as I dont want to load it just for this. With konq's tabs and split views one single window can accomplish more than any other app on my desktop.
I like the idea, but maybe it should be a kpart, something like kompare (but file oriented, not text oriented). Probably kompare should be launched when you wanted to see diferences between files.
Sync would be specially good so it would help users not copy the older file over the newer between the hard disk and a memory stick for example.
yeah, its a good idea. whould increase the usefullness of konqi alot. give it a go and code it, or ask the konqi developers (or someone else) to do it (bugs.kde.org).
its another toolbar and imho it should be activated if you are
-in filebrowsing mode
-have your window split
-have not linked them.

Could be accomplished as a frontend fuer Unison.

if you click the place next to the light, you can couple windows, so they follow each other...
