Description:
KoolTime is a KDE Kicker Applet. It displays time in a new funky way. Keep in mind that this is only earlky versions.

***UPDATED Screenshots...

Here's what's on my todo list:

For V0.4:
12h/24h
Calendar
Allow Users to decide if they want the date
Allow Users to choose Frame Style *Maybe*

Later Versions:
Allow Users to change the font
Allow Users to change the positions of hours and minutes
Allow Users to change the date format
Allow Users to change the position of the time and the date(time over date, date to the left of time, ...)

Most of these are almost ready, i just need to modify the config dialog.

Please leave comments if good, thank you, if bad, please let me know what you don't like so I can fix it!!

A couple of things that could make it even better: 1) make the "configure kooltime" dialog able to display the time in standard, 12-hour time instead of 24-hour time 2) make it so a single click on the time brings up the kde calendar, like it does with the normal kde time. Great job.

Kooltime would gain to have a better Settings dialog (using KConfig XT would do it) with standard KDE buttons. Otherwise, it's very good, I like it better than the normal clock!

Yonen

What do you mean exactly by "standard KDE buttons" I only used QT widgets, as for KConfig XT do you mean I should use KCfgCreator to create a better looking Settings Dialog?

elempoimen

very cool. 12h support would be great.

Yonen

WHAT'S WRONG WITH 24h ?? hehehehe... it's on my list.

Nice applet, thank you. Something you can add to it: support for calendar like in default clock applet (shows the calendar when you click on it).

Yonen

Yeah.. I am working on that. This is only early versions, I wanted to release something just to see if people like it.

Ekardnam

Does it support transperanty?

fbronner

I would love to also have the possibility of displaying the seconds... It's always usefull to me as it is an indication if my kicker has died on me ;-) Otherwise it's excellent work...

Yonen

What about a flashing dot at the bottom right?

fbronner

Would be great, as long as it changes sufficiently fast that I can see if my CVS version has died on me ;-) Without having to wait a minute... I know I'm impatient...

Yonen

It does one cycle(on/off) per seconds. That should be fast enough. And of course you can remove the flashing option.

SynTruth

Looks good and different. A question, though, even if it may sound silly, but will it work with transparent kickers? I mean, making the background color transparent if the kicker is?

Yonen

I didn't think about that, thx for asking. The background of the time and date will not be transparent. I will add that to the todo list. Thanks

Cypress

Looks nice, I like it... keep up the good work ;).
