Rounded Corners in the KDE panels would open up soo many more options... Is this really so hard to do?

Take a look at the small app BAB contained in the Baghira package. It provides round screen edges for the topleft/right corners. Though it's just another hack...

brcha

Nope, bab is just a dcop client for baghira style. It is baghira that makes the round screen corners! Not that it matters too much :)

shaping is pretty easy, but this isn't necessarily the right place to ask - goto bugs.kde.org and report a wish there, assigned to kicker (though this could be implemented in the styles as well - like comix did round popups)

I don't see why rounded corners would open more opions? It just looks different, you like it more, I _really_ prefer sharp corners, so it's all a matter of taste, and I think, it shouldn't be done by default.

pattf

More options artistically. I wouldn't want it to be default either, that would be left up to the distro and user on how to use it.

to do: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=17534&vote=good&tan=94162553 ;) It works. Well, if the KDE development team don't have time to do this, a simple app that: - Lies behind Kicker - You can add a picture (like the one in my screenshot) to get the look of Kicker - Kicker transperancy = 100 % Of course, this will cause problem if you have autohide etc. But I tihnk it would be kool... Sorry for my poor English, I hope you understand what I meant.

really cute shot, but from a programmers view, your methid is... well extraordinary ;) this can be done more precise and efficient by 5 or 6 lines of code (or less - depends on how excatly you 're doing) ;) bug aaron - the biggest problem will be that kicker uses the styles to draw it's frame - this would have to be disabled in the case shaping is wished (as the styles do expect a rectangular frane)

striderstrahan

if only they could let you give custom backgrounds for the left and right hide buttons.

this is what i called "OUT SIDE OF THE BOX' solution, i like it :-)

Oh, I'm very sorry - linked wrong. The right link is: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=17534 And thank you for the comments.

Thank You. I took it in Beaufort,SC at Waterfront Park.. You can get it at my deviantart page. http://patf.deviantart.com

Hi, nice shot. However, I wasn't able to find it on your site. Is there a direction link? Thanks, The Borg Queen

BorgQueen

I like the idea. Although I think it would be a bit of work to make it happen. The KDE developers are already overloaded with requests for new items. KDE has become so popular, it's hard to keep up. However, the reason I'm posting is to ask you about the background. It's beautiful. Where is that place and where did you get the pic? Can you post it somewhere for download? Thanks, The Borg Queen
