really it sounds like you are looking for a way to embed your terminal window into your desktop, this can be done (somewhat crudely) using devilspie on whatever your perfered terminal emulator is (I personally use /grimace the gnome terminal devilspie'd because it has more options on text and background colors than konsole or xterm). anyway yours sounds great, i would love to see a fully supported, embedded terminal for KDE, just thought i'd give you another option till it comes about
I don't think we should go putting everything onto the desktop just for the sake of it. I think of the desktop as a place that display information/links/icons that I need to be able to monitor/use frequently.
A console embedded in Aero AIO, would be too small to actually do anything useful with and there are already plenty of ways you can achieve a stand alone embedded terminal on the desktop.
[Sorry 4 my english]
I have spoken with a lot of ppl using Superkaramba in LT and we all think, that this situation when we have Superkaramba as "separate program" is very bad. I see two solutions:
1. Fully integrate Superkaramba code into KDE, use it everywhere in everypart and forget that it was separate package.
2. Use it as absolutely separate package.
f.e. Such ideas having both "console" and "console in superkaramba" is not good idea, lets chose only one and use only one in KDE.
as i know, superkaramba will be fully integrated into kde 4.0.
it won't be in "kdebase" but it will be as kontact or konkeror.
this is only and idea or where will carry us the future kde :)
more details about it, in plasma.kde.org
