Well based on our conversation at bugs.kde.org it looks like the KDE devs won't even consider this idea, even though its just an idea at this point. That's sad, maybe its up to the distro makers to create KCM modules for these apps for Fedora, SUSE, Ubuntu, etc. but it doesn't look like it'll ever be part of standard KDE. :-( Thanks for trying, it is a great idea! Keep voting 'good' if you like it folks, maybe this'll change someday but I don't think it's likely.
This site is for apps. For brainstorming you should use the apposite category of kde-look. Pretty please, don't spam kde-apps with what's not an app, but just an idea.
Is it-crosslisted? I'm looking at it on kde-look where it belongs.
This would be great to do, users expect to manage their system settings from one place not multiple apps. Create a wish on bugs.kde.org please
New feature request done as Bug 187154: Add kuser, ksystemlog, kinfocenter and ksysguar... http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187154 Thanks for motivating me doing this ;-)
You're welcome, I'm sorry I didn't see the proposal for adding KUser to systemsettings. But coming from a Windows background I agree that it makes sense to have all this stuff available from the same place!
I am using linux since Red hat 9, now we have Fedora 10? It is 5 years I think I'have left 'Redmond' and I feel good with this. So I can say as a linux user that separating ksystemlog, kinfocenter and ksysguard from system-settings because there is nothing to set is strange idea... and then one may write that linux is very hard to learn because it is hard to find these three applications among the others ;-) ... the other will say it is good that it is separated becase of idea, it should differ from windows, it is nothing that much more useful it may be having them also as a part of system-settings...
