Keep in mind that (as far as I've found) the Animate Skydome setting makes the Skydome image move with the desktop-cube, giving the impression that YOU are moving inside the cube, not that the cube is spinning around you and inside the dome.
Read the help tip that pops up over the checkbox, if you don't believe me.
I for one would really like to see an animated Skydome setting, just like the Vista Ultimate DreamScene addon.
