Description:
I originally intended to make a New Years package of KDM and Ksplash themes but the background image was to intensly vibrant in the varying hues of blue to make it come out right. The hues are so intense that the background image uses more memory than normal. Even making my screen shots 640X400 did not allow me to upload them here so a couple are 600X375 to meet the 300kb limit.

This theme goes back to the more traditional default blue look of KDE and should please some traditionalists in that aspect.

As I stated when I posted the ksplash package of this theme it was the hardest one I have ever done due to the background picture. I actually spent less time making the KDM theme than I did on the Ksplash theme. The background picture posed a unique challenge in layout design as I did not want any element unduly interfering with the overall effect of the background itself. I believe I did achieve that goal.

Now to the attributes:

This is a complete system theme package put together from various packages at www.kde-look.org, and a background I got off the Internet. I as the packager only cleaned up and fixed small issues. I did create the KDM and Ksplash packages using existing works but none of the artwork is mine. The clock Icons in both are made from actual images of clocks. (Yes the warped faced clocks really do exist.) I created the Icons from the actual pictures using the GIMP. The following elements from kde-look.org were used to create this package:

Crystal Diamond Icon Set packaged by manowarlord. Please see his description for this Icon set at:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Crystal+Diamond+Icons?content=45576

Background Wallpaper from a free wallpaper collection site. No artist or photographer name given.

Kickoff buttons are the Light Blue buttons from kabob's "Blue and Charcoal" KBFX Button set. Converted by me for use with Kickoff and set to 52 Pixels high.

Ksplash Screen is by me

KDM theme is by me

The Icons used in both the KDM and Ksplash screen were made by me using actual pictures of real clocks.

Panel Wallpaper is from kabob's "Blue and Charcoal" KBFX Button set.

Cursors are the BlueShineyCursors by Dunkelstern
(View the README file in the archive for important information concerning the cursor set.)

Does anyone out there have a copy of this theme? It looks pretty awesome, but the download link is busted.

I haven't tested the theme but it looks a bit too saturated on the screenshots. No offense intended, I'll have to check it first :) And thanks for using my cursors... Interesting someone actually uses them :) (they don't fit into my current theme, so I neither use them right now.)

The screen shots don't do it justice and despite the heavy blue the background is actually very nice. I have had no issues with being able to see anything and because of the drop in resolution on the screen shots a large anount of the more vibrant tones don't show through. Thank you for making a cursor set that fit the theme. Any chance of making more cursors in the future?

What shapes do you miss? If I could be of any help feel free to contact me :)

Personally I would like to see more artistic cursor sets beyond what seems to be the norm in Linux. I would love to see themed Icon and cursor sets like Winbloat users have. Linux, KDE and even Gnome have the ability to change look, feel and methods way beyond what Winbloat can do and yet most things out there are fairly generic. When I look at some of the cursor sets available to Winbloat users and then look at the rather small choices we have available it just makes no sense. Xorg has a lot more potential and yet it just doesn't seem to get used. There just seems to be a lot more that can be done and oddly enough we end up with some fairly limited choices. Colorized cursors are there but style choices are limited. While Icon sets are being developed cursor sets seem to be left fairly generic. I'm no graphic artist I just take what's out there and put it together. But I see so many cursor sets that even if I can convert them for use from Windows sets i can't use because of licensing and copyright issues. It would be nice to see new cursor eye candy that is both functional and artistic. Would love to see some "outside the box" thinking as well.

The theme looks nice, too bad it is located at a bad downloadlocation. First one needs to wait 1 minute before downloading (or pay $ 4.50 to get the download instantly), and when the download is finally available, i end up with a corrupted tar.gz file of 11.7 kilobytes...

technoshaun

I'll try another download site. I know the one minute time delay is a PIA but the full package is 26.3 MB and finding a host is anything but easy.

Thanks for the quick reply. This downloadsite works like a breeze :)
