Description: I was thinking of starting a project to make a Seti@home karamba theme. This way we can have a nice small tool showing the charts and data streams. I have no idea where to begin on this, so am looking to assemble a team and see if we can make this possible.
Just posted the first release called skSeti. Play with it and see if you can add to it. I'm still waiting on someone to do some design work to make it look a little better.

has my screenshot and look to the right. skSeti is was I am calling it, but it is still pre-release and I'm working with another on a nice frontend for it.
It will be out soon though..

rofl...nice screenshot. has my screenshot image on it lol. but anyway, i see that you started one and appologize, i did not know. i would like to help develop it further. showing more of the stats that the program gives out (outputs). let me know.
My initial work is very simplified. It reads the Username, Progress, Number of units completed and Percent completed of current work unit. After looking at the k seti spy page, there is a lot more that can be put into this, so sure I would like help.. or offer help to you. Either way. It's hard to test b/c of the downloading work unit situation though. It can only be tested once every two days or so, thus why I haven't released mine yet. =c(

Sounds cool man. I will release what I have completed so far for design purposes. I am going to start reading data out through the theme next. KSetiSpy kinda helped me come up with some ideas of making it simple unlike the complexity of xsetiathome script.
I agree with you on the fact that it will be a very difficult project, but it should be fun finding ways to do it. I welcome you to the team, and will contact you with my email so that we can communicate back and forth. I am basing much of the design of this theme on the ksetispy programs windows. It is arranged very nicely and compounded into a small amount of windows. I think that we can make the theme combine these into a nice toolbar displaying the information on the scanned progress. That project can be found at http://ksetispy.sourceforge.net/screenshots.php
Let me know what you think...
I wouldn't think it'd be terribly difficult to write a frontend for something like console-SETI@Home (or similar project). Link here: http://console-seti.sourceforge.net/
Starting a client from scratch would be a bit much, I'd think (especially considering the efforts put into similar GPL'ed projects).
This is a great idea and I'd love to see this materialize. Although I have little familiarity with python and karamba, I'd love to learn and possibly lend a hand.
