Here it is. A snowbar with a Linux look. Sorry to all macintosh haters out there. Hope this one makes everyone a little happier this winter. brrrrrrrrr
^_-
Acknowledgments to: Kevin Pott, Everaldo Coelho and Wati Larke for their brilliant artwork on the icons. And special thanks to xicons.com for providing them to us all.Last changelog:
- Different icons - No transparency
Note: This theme is still tailored for 1600x1200 desktops.
Looks really good and is much lighter on CPU than the docker style themes that zoom.
It's way to big for most of us though, I would say 1600x1200 is not the most common resolution!
Are you gonna do this without snow so it's more appropriate all year long??
Right. Well, like I said, this theme is very easy to alter. The most common resolution is probably 1280x1024. So I'm going to create another snow panel for that resolution. And when the winter is over, I'll post a different one :).
Thanks for the suggestion. When you say it's too big though, do you mean the icon sizes or the width of the bar, or both?
hi
i would like to know where the wall paper in your screenshot is from. could you please post an answer in this page?
thank you a lot fro the great icon bar too :)
I got this wallpaper from deviantart.com. I made some changes to it though. I added the bugs and the green leaf at the top right myself. I can post it here as a wallapaper if you like. Let me know.
And thanks for the comment.
seems you forgot the python file? i get a snowbar folder with the theme and a pics folder... but it says it can't load the python module "snowbar" ( probably because it's not there. )
That's odd. There is no python file being used for this theme. What version of superkaramba are you using?
For me this theme runs on karamba 0,16 and superkaramba 0.32
The theme is too simple though so I really think it should run on all versions of both karamba and superkaramba.
Yeah, this theme is created for 1600x1200 desktops only. If you want to shrink it you'd have to play with the theme file.
I'm thinking of adding a UI to it where you can provide your desktop resolution, and which icons you want on the bar and then it would create a best fit bar to suite your preferences.

A 1280x1024 would be perfect.
