Hello Nice Work. How should I do to change the applications in the NewTux Bar? Should I recompile ? Thanks
hi, my kde control bar (3.4.2)normaly on the bottom of the screen, slid up to 1/4 of the top of my screen, when I load the new tux bar theme Who can help? Jochen
I have been playing with tuxbar, as well as a few other OSX-like menubars that use karamba/superkaramba, and all of them do the exact same thing that is really annoying me. There is this huge transparent section above the menubar that obscures any application that enters that area. You can see a screenshot of what I am talking about at http://www.bonaplus.com/~thb/images/screen.jpg Basically, I want to have the focused window go on top of that transparent area, and then have the menubar come to the top when it is focused. I am pretty new to karamba/superkaramba, and for all I know this is not possible, but I find it kind of hard to believe that all the people using this program are just living with it like that. I am pretty sure I am overlooking something, but STFW and RTFM haven't turned anything that can help me.
hi! well i lived with that too, until i was told to recompile superkaramba with following changes: in the superkaramba-sourcetree edit src/karamba.cpp line 2246 KWin::setType(winId(), NET::Normal); to //KWin::setType(winId(), NET::Normal); (just uncomment it, right) recompile reinstall and you've got the themes BEHIND the windows... cheers!
This is great, I like this much more being dynamic (adding your own icons) and with the date/time. I'm just wondering if theres either a way to fix the problem with scrolling large images to overlap the time/date.. or if your going to be fixing this anytime soon or anything?
ok for people who only see half of the bar go and edit you .theme file somewhere near the top it says H=100 change that to H=150 and then save and reload the theme.... then if you have to press alt and drag it up....
Doesn't work though... Everything is transparent except the 1 and 2 icons representing my virtual desktops =( I've tried pointing the tuxbar.py script to the absolute path of the images, without any luck... Any help would be appreciated And yes, seems that this isn't the only theme I have problems with
I am also having the same problems. It's strange because I was able to run the old tux bar just fine. Also, if anyone can send me a sample code on how to add more programs to the bar that would be great. Thanks in advance. mcgrath
Hi, looks great, but im having trouble with it on mandrake 9.1. The bar appears half off the bottom of the screen. I need to move it up the screen a bit, but cant figure out how. Other than that great theme
to move caramba's object keep pressed ALT key and drag'n'drop with the mouse the object in the new position!
Hi, the problem with your tux bar is not simply the position the bar is place by the default config. If moved, at least on my machine, the bottom half of the bar is still missing. This is the error messagae that I am getting from KDE: "Major opcode: \x0e WARNING: KDE detected X Error: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)". This happens whenever I try to reload the config. Thinking that the problem could possibly be due to the BOTTOMBAR=true option I set it to false. That did not fix the problem with the lower half of the bar being cut off and it presented another problem. With BOTTOMBAR=false if I reload the config the theme disapears completely. Karamba is still running and the theme is loaded but is not visible. Please help.
Ok, figured out what the problem was regarding the bar being cut off, the default Hight setting was off a little, by default it was set at 100 I set it to 150 and now the bar is not cut in half anymore.
It only shows up half way its cut along the length, the bottom half is invisible?? can I have some help changing the script or is it my Hard ware or is it SuSE any special Lib.'s needed for tuxbar?
Your is a problem of positioning, read the solution that I will post in the next thread below! ;-)
What if I use 2 virtual desktops, how will it handel that?
right click on the bar and edit the theme and comment or delete these rows: IMAGE X=23 Y=69 PATH="pics/3.png" CLICKAREA X=23 Y=69 W=16 H=16 ONCLICK="dcop kwin KWinInterface setCurrentDesktop 3" IMAGE X=1 Y=85 PATH="pics/4.png" CLICKAREA X=1 Y=85 W=16 H=16 ONCLICK="dcop kwin KWinInterface setCurrentDesktop 4" It will remain 2 buttons (3) and (4) without any functionality.
I never see something that look as professionnal as that on linux! The only problem is that is not a new idea but a MacOS X one. :o(
What's the problem? A good idea will be replicated and imprved as long as it will seem a good idea! During the story a lot of artist would have been inspired from others works!
