Description:
And now a Karamba theme that might actually be useful! This Karamba theme will display who is connected to the Samba server on your machine (who is accessing your Windows shared folders).

With Mandrake 9.1 making Samba shares so easy to set up, I thought regular users along with server admins might get some good use out of this.

The window shows which users at which machines are accessing your shares, and which shares they are accessing. A blue light by the user name indicates that they are actually locking files (downloading, uploading, etc) and a grey light means they are connected but inactive.

Enjoy! Setup instructions are in the README. Comments and feedback welcome. This is just a quick hack to create something that I needed, but because Karamba is so simple to extend it's not a hack in the "unstable and might blow up" sense.

NOTE:
I know Karamba themes blur the line between add-on programs and KDE eyecandy. If kde-look is not the place for this, please let me know.

Awesome! this is a great example of how Karamba can actually be useful. Now if only this can be modified to monitor a LAN server. Then i have my dream of an evil villain surrounded by all knowing computers...mwhahahahah. Seriously. Nice Work! I might see if i can pay someone to make a version that monitors remote servers.

Hi! First of all, thanks for it! It is very usefull for me. But is it possible to monitor other SAMBA - Server as well?? It would be cool if you could tell me how to do it, or if an option like this will/can be added... Thanks :D Prego

I think the site should have a new Karamba section, instead of the themes etc all going into either Other or KDE Improvement. Nice work on the theme, very handy ;)

Yes, this actually *is* useful. There's a dockapp that does something similar, but it only lists the number of people connected. Is there any way to expand this to other ports, too, so one could monitor who is connect with other services?

This is definitely the right place to post. I like the idea of a site that can host the best eyecandy and utilities.
