...that you use system colours in stead of hardcoded ones? :) It would make this style much more interesting, in that it will follow the desktop's colour scheme, and thus not be as you say a drab black and white, but in stead make it stylish and make it fit right in with a lot of people's desktops.
System colour definitions can be found in the CSS RFC found on www.w3c.org
Well this style is only a blank layout, and is not intended to be used as a style, but as a basis for new ones. I had to organize my CSS file in a proper way in order to make the New Danna (blue) style, and I thought that the structure of my CSS file could be used by others...
This raw version is not good enough that I would want to just improve the colours. Spaces (paddings, margins) and font sizes are not optimized.
But I will take a look at those CSS system colours.
I've made a really quick modification by changing almost all the colours to system colours. You probably won't think it's very good, but I just made it quickly to see what it looks like. I think the text colours are less good in mine but it's cool to have the system highlight colour used for mouseover. I've tested it on a few odd colour schemes and it seems to stay readable.
BTW, although it was intended as a template, I like the original design, which goes well with my theme (althought it would probably look a little monochrome against the standard Plastik).
