This has been created for use with a desktop that has been themed with the KDE Widget style and Icon Set named Reinhardt. It has been created for the GNOME display manager in stead of KDM due to KDM's lack of themability. When KDM in KDE 3.3 becomes themable, this will be ported to KDM, but until then, here you go. This is based on the "Happy GNOME" theme.
On the name: Ad Reinhardt, 1913-1967 Reinhardt was an American minimalist painter, who became known for his extreme style, which also became more and more reductive from the mid 1950s, towards his death in 1967. After 1955 he worked almost exclusively in near-black. This said, there is in fact colour in the paintings, for example his "Abstract Painting no. 5", 1962, which can be found at the Tate Modern ( www.tate.co.uk ), is, though seemingly black-blue, in fact squared with blue and red.
..Dan // LeinirLast changelog:
Fixed a slight graphical error (I used the wrong icon for actions! It should not be a monitor gamma icon).
I didn't test your theme.
It is the only one that shows also the rest of the users in the machine. Issue that I am looking for other themes but unsuccessfully.
My doubt is which login manager you must have activated to get it run: KDM? or GDM?
Regards,
Juan_Lutz
This is probably the best KDM theme on kde-look at the moment.
unfortunatly, it doesnt work on my amd64 gentoo kde-3.4 desktop.
i get the error..
theme not useable with authentication method 'username + password(classic)'
does anyone know of any workarounds, or why this is happening ???
thanks.
(ohh, and i agree it should be rated higher, so i gave a postive feedback)
I get the same error message. I have no idea of the reason since I know nothing about gdm/kdm themes, so if anyone could help us it would be really apreciated.
Regards.
BTW, this theme is wonderfull, good work and thanks for the info about Reinhardt. ;)
Sorry for posting again, but I forgot one thing. In adiction to that error, I can observe that no use is displayed in the list. I bet the two problems are related.
...yes,I like it!!
Dyou know how ti change the fonts about the caracters on login,I mean and don't like the Huge caracters appearing when I'm writing my Login name..any suggestion??
thanks for your job!!
You have to change it in the theme file. It's just XML, so it's.. relatively simple to go through. The font "Sans 12" is listed around the file, you only have to change that (I'm not so sure about the format I'm afraid, I left that from the original Happy GNOME theme). But I'm happy you like it :)
